Si Huynh Wall Art

Artist Si Huynh was born in Saigon, Vietnam. He’s an alumnus of the Capilano Illustration and Graphic Design Program. He’s been working as an art director, an illustrator, and designer for more than eighteen years. He got his first formal art training in Vietnam at the age of 6. His illustration clients include Canadian Art Prints, John Hancock, Canada Post, Honda, Addison Wesley, Ellery Queen Magazine, PC World and Xerox. He now lives and works on Vancouver Island. He loved art from a young age and that’s what has made him who he is today. His art are now much sought after by many private collectors and galleries throughout the world. Huynh went to Canada in 1981 and began his freelance illustration career 9 years later. His approach to illustration draws from the 1920’s and 1930’s vintage advertising style but with a modern flare.

Many of his paintings are inspired by his own childhood. His art not only varies in subject matter they also vary in size and media. Huynh’s works continue to be displayed in museums, churches, embassies, galleries, and private residences throughout the world. His influences include the Russian Avant-Garde artists such as Vladimir Stenberg and Georgii, and poster master AM Cassandre, JC-Leyendecker. He tries to blur and harmonize the distinction between commercial and art fine art in his work. Huynh, with his son and wife, lives on Vancouver Island, which he likes because he can be closer to some of the finest golf courses and fly-fishing spots anywhere.
