Michael O'Toole (Born 1963) was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. He got admission to the British Columbia Institute of Technology where he studied architectural design. O'Toole then moved to Toronto and started working for different architectural firms.
He developed interest in design work and so he started experimenting with different methods and at some point started adding colors to his work. It wasn’t long before he started using other mediums like watercolor, pen and ink, graphite, gouache and acrylic to bring out his creativity. In 1991, O’Toole won an architecture award for the best home design. However, his love for art made him turn down his career as an architect despite his success.
His splendid style of art is adapted from his former instructors like Charles M. Svob, a renowned artist. O'Toole’s sources of inspiration are different beautiful sights that he experiences during his local and international travels. His story and creative pieces have been published in different magazines and newspaper articles. Many of his works can be found online and in different physical galleries. O'Toole refers to his art as “all consuming passion.” He says that his art holds emotions and technique, something that makes them widely appreciated.
O'toole uses acrylics to create his art, which are mainly landscapes, seascapes, architecture, and portraiture. He’s currently living near the West Coast and has his works available across Canada, the U.S., Europe and Japan.
