Jan Weiss was born in suburban Northern California and that’s where she was raised. She has been an artist ever since she can remember. She studied at California State University from where she obtained her art degree. She specialized in human rendering, but then in later years she discovered a love for textured paper, gel mediums, paint, glue, and mixed media. She was greatly inspired by handmade paper, patterns, multi-cultural colors, textures in the earth, and views from airplanes. She uses this inspiration to express a unique idea, an original thought, and an individual expression. She enjoys new challenges and is constantly inspired by her clients to create new things. Jan creates with a variety of material – acrylic paints, gel medium, glue, and paper and somehow she keeps making new stuff.
She also goes through periods of intense love of one color but she gets bored easily and cane never make the same thing twice. Jan describes herself as a digital artist, a collage artist as well as a writer. Her work ranges from vintage to whimsical inspired. She loves it when people get excited about her art. She loves trendy art that pops she has a strong business and art publishing background and loves it when her clients use her background and experience on their projects. Jan has learnt not to discount anything that can inspire someone to see things in a way never did before, can be used to tell and create a wonderful story, or to provoke an unforgettable feeling.
