Leslie Bernsen and Connie Tunick are artist who are working together to ensure that their talents complement each other to better serve their clients. They began their unique collaboration in January 1998 at a community college where they were attending a printmaking class. They had attended the classes the class for several semesters and each was seeking a unique approach to print-making. Bernsen and Tunick had been working as professional artists for many years before they began their collaboration. Tunick's background is in art education, while Bernsen's is in textile design. Bernsen paints in acrylics and works on large canvases. She often incorporates collage into her work. Tunick's paints in watercolor and her themes are frequently nature oriented. Bernsen and Tunick each create half of every piece that has their signature as Bernsen/Tunick. Their art depicts the authentic connection to joy and happiness, which is inspired from their personal wisdom and deep contentment.
The artists masterfully weave together their art materials to create their own one-of-a-kind pieces of art. Their style is undoubtedly representative of color, whimsy and joy. Both Bernsen and Tunick are highly versatile and they use mixed media freely. They both enjoy experimental art and are continually developing and expanding their creative visions and styles. Their efforts have developed a style of art that possesses its own unique identity and they consider their collaboration as a learning process. Their work is completely different from either artist's individual work. Though it is unusual for two artists to work together, Bernsen and Tunick are enthusiastic about their collaborative efforts.
