Jon Bertelli is an Italian photographer known for his detailed black and white images. He's famed for his series of cat images dubbed "Curiosity." He was born in Italy where he got his academic training. Besides having trained in his home town of Florence, Tuscany, he also furthered his education in Oslo, Norway. Having lived and worked in different places in Europe and America, Bertelli speaks several different languages and is truly multicultural. He has lived in Denmark, Canada, USA, and Mexico. After completing his education, he had a stint as an art director, a position that inspired in him the love for photography. Bertelli has developed his art of photography for years and has had his creative photographic works appear on several local and international publications. He has worked with IBM, Gilbey's, Toshiba, Honda, Nissan, and Suzuki among others. His rich understanding of different artistic styles stem from the fact that he has also traveled to Europe, Columbia, Mexico, Canada, and USA on work related assignments. Through such travels, he has interacted with industry’s big names and experienced different styles.
Bertelli’s work, Zapatistas, Heroes from the Last Century, has received positive reviews in different countries across the globe. The work was part of Focus 8 Exhibit 2010 exhibit in London, England. It was also listed as one of the Must See Shows in Torontoist, which is among the leading photography festivals globally. Alongside his many awards in the US, Canada, and Europe, his works are also collected and exhibited in several galleries globally. Bertelli’s creative works, his roles as a guest speaker and a mentor have seen him inspire many aspiring photographers from several art colleges. He’s still active in his photography work and is currently residing in both the US and Canada. He still travels a lot to different parts of the world, enjoying his love for photography.
