William Mangum Art Prints
From that very first watercolor painting, William Mangum understood the logic behind painting what you know. As a result, every experience is a potential painting. The growth of his portfolio throughout his career reflects his extensive travels both abroad and close to home. In addition to his widely known North Carolina architectural and landscape work, Mangum demonstrates the incredible breadth of his talent through his tropical and European paintings.
A native of North Carolina, Mangum began his career while earning his Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts degrees. He describes his style as "realistic expressionism," using an unlimited number of colors and moods, vivid details, and soft, abstract forms to draw the viewer into the painting.
Mangum's paintings have been exhibited by notable museums and art organizations, including the National Arts Club, the Society of Illustrators, Allied Artists of America, the Salmagundi Club and the Knickerbocker Artists League. He has participated in or exhibited in the Aqueous Open in Louisville, the New Realists show in Chicago, the Butler Art Institute and the International Exhibition in London. He is an associate member of the North Carolina, Southern, American and National Watercolor Societies. In addition to his two galleries, Mangum's work can be found in shops and galleries across the United States and in other countries.
