Carolyn Kinnison invented a unique style that she uses to produce paintings that are highly textured by imprinting quotations and designs into wood or another suitable medium. She then layers vibrant colors which she applies to the surface to make each piece a one-of-a-kind. In the end, she finishes her originals using varnish that makes them high quality pieces of original art that are able to last for very long. Carolyn comes from West Bloomfield; she’s a self-taught artist who creates inspirational, unique works of art. Her works of art are carved into a wet compound on tile or wood, then layered with paints and finally varnished. She grew up in Michigan, where she fell in love with the lakes and trees in that area. She and Dan, her fabulous husband, have been in marriage for close to 40 years and they have raised 4 great children together.
What inspired her to start creating her art work include life, nature, and other artists. She can't stop creating, and good music and driving always stirs up her creative juices. What makes her art work distinctive or unique include colors, design, and medium which always makes her art stand out. She changes her style and medium quite often depending on the project at hand. The thing that is consistent in her art though is change and also her attention to detail. Carolyn has been creating art for more than 20 years, but in the current medium she uses today, she has only taken 5 years. Apart from art, she enjoys gardening, walking, visiting friends, among others.
