Russell Cobane (Born in 1946) has dedicated his life to the perfection of his awesome talent - art. He began as a landscape painter in his youth and spent many hours fishing and camping. In the 1970s, he was working with a Madison Avenue artist representative as a prominent commercial illustrator. His love of nature and plants appealed to his soul and he began painting wildlife in 1984. Cobane has received several achievements and awards. In 1991 he was commissioned to print for the Dominos Pizza Corporation. In addition to these achievements and awards, for five consecutive years, the artist won the People's Choice Award at a show organized by the Michigan Wildlife Habitat Foundation. He designed a series of 8 collector plates and also designed greeting cards for The Bradford Exchange and the National Wildlife Federation respectively.
He also designed greeting cards for the Humane Society. For Ducks Unlimited alone, his efforts in conservation have earned more than $500,000. He continues to paint mainly nature subjects, but he’s not just limited to that’s he’s also interested in exploring other subjects as well. He says that his real reward comes when someone falls in love with his print or painting. This is what is inspiring to him and has kept the artistic fire burning in his heart. Even though he’s a professional artist, he’s still open to learning from his fellow artist. That why he likes to associate himself with them and also likes to attend art exhibitions and shows.
