Mary Lou Johnson has lived most of her life on islands of coastal Florida. She’s passionately attracted to watery scenes and their never-ending array of mood, composition and color in her artistic creations. She retired from her private practice as a family and marriage therapist and divorce mediator and decided to immerse herself into photography and digital painting. She loves photography because it allows her to capture God’s beauty with an emphasis on coastal environments throughout South America, the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. Mary loves traveling in the pursuit of subject matter as well as for her creative and unique digital painting process to bring the photo to where she envisions it should be.
Spiritually and personally, she says the process is fulfilling and challenging. Mary supports conservation of the natural world and strives to encourage others to preserve and observe the beauty around us. Before plunging into photography, her life was in a rather obsessed way as it always involved the people of all ages. With her pieces of art, collectors and fans around the world bring beautiful outdoor scenes into their work spaces and personal homes. Her art is also found in museums, galleries, institutions and public places. She loves the beauty of this world and loves sharing it with her viewers.... She loves doing portraiture and showing men and women just how beautiful they truly are. She’s always loved her work and, fortunately, her passion now focuses on photographing places, people, and anything else that inspire her at the moment.
