A beautiful spirited island girl met a priggish Midwest farm boy. The two fell in love, got married and after some years had two boys, and then Kat Papa came into the picture. Papa’s parents found common ground and have created a beautiful life together; they couldn’t be any more different. That’s where Papa came from, which might explain his creative talent and his ability to find the beauty in simple things and in contradiction. Papa grew up a “military brat” and moved around a lot. However, he considers himself lucky to have had the chance to travel extensively, be immersed in so many different cultures and experience the world. To this day, all the travels have given him an immense wanderlust. Moving a lot has always been inspiring to him. As a child Papa was always painting, coloring, doodling, and re-decorating every chance he got. He could draw on any surface using any material he could lay his hands on. He has always loved making all things colorful, fun and pretty.
That’s just what he wanted to do. To date, not much has changed. Papa still loves making all things colorful, fun and pretty. However, as he grew up he realized that there’re bills to pay which limited his actions. Papa worked in several industries marketing, banking, sales, bar tending, etc. But he was never as satisfied as when he was creating something beautiful. He therefore decided to work as an artist. He now enjoys decorating/design for events and homes. He has dabbled with starting a small business with his BFF crafting lifestyle photography, live plant arrangements and painting.
