Amber King’s works brings together the poetic nature of an idea and the layering strong visuals to bring about multi-dimensional concepts. Her paintings explore the underlying meaning of the human’s collective experiences through raw enthrallment with capturing a single moment of thought. Her art is a bit like a riddle with the meaning of each work and the interpretation of the “message” in each art left up to the viewer. Amber’s art is influenced by a love of the simplicity of form, graphic design and the boldness of graffiti, and the meaning and purpose of the Dada movement. She has exhibited her work in solo and group shows, private and corporate collections, and she has commissioned murals in New York City, Atlanta, and Washington, DC.
With an eye on building arts opportunities for both children in underserved communities and fellow artists, while in Washington, DC, she was a member of the Urban Artists Coalition, and now she promotes collaborative arts gatherings in Atlanta, GA. As an artist, she considers herself to be a student of life; she’s open to learning and is continually seeking new techniques and directions, which keeps her immersed and challenged in her journey and the fun of painting. Her art is unique because it makes the viewer to understand, experience, and sense it in his/her own personal way. Her art are very easy to identify because of this uniqueness. The artist believes that just like a poem, a good image brings out stories, feelings and even strong spiritual experience.
