Nikki Galapon is an artist living in Glen Allen, Virginia. She is an abstract visual artist who works in watercolor, acrylic, oil, and does mixed media work with vintage materials. Her inspiration comes from many things. First is from the loving and wonderful support that is all around her life, from those in her own family, and the customers and stores that she works with. She also derives inspiration from the peaceful woods surrounding her home and from the times spent with friends, and the memories of growing up in Virginia. Nikki also likes media exploration and is a keen observer of all aspects of nature. She is able to notice little details that can be easily ignored by many people. She trained as an architect and this is evident in the balance of the geometric and organic structures used in her work. Her love of making things has always been part of her life.
Her designs are created by putting together different styles and elements. She uses scanned vintage graphics to make her work. She is always looking for the beauty in things that are that are simple, discarded or forgotten by others. That’s what describes her style. Making to do with old things and making things has always been Nikki’s way of life. Her select works are currently displayed in the heart of Carytown at Fralin Art & Frame at the Virginia Artist’s Gallery. Some of her works can also be found in private and public collections worldwide.
