Marie-Elaine Cusson loves using a variety of media while simultaneously experimenting with different techniques. Gouache or acrylic paint on canvas and pencils and markers on illustration boards form her collections. Marie-Elaine plays with thickness and texture of the paint to create images that reflect balance and harmony. Nature plays a central role in inspiring her. She composes images that ring with a sense of inner warmth and positive feelings and simple happiness. Currently, Marie-Elaine lives in Montreal where she studied graphic design and fine arts at Concordia University. Her art has been created especially for products. She can alter existing art or create a new art can to manufacturers specification. Each of her collection is ready to be placed onto products as they have been formatted as Adobe Photoshop layered files.
Marie-Elaine is now a member of the Association of Graphic Designers of Quebec and the Association of Illustrateurs of Quebec and. Her work can be seen in such fields as kitchen appliances, wall and home decor, textile, stationery, Illustrations for books and stamps. Some of her original work can also be found in private homes. All her images are drawn or hand painted and then scanned into Photoshop and set up along with other drawings to get as many different interesting images as possible. Images can be cropped, background colors can then be changed, and icons arranged to fit specific needs. Her clients include Editions de Villers from Montreal (greeting cards), Major retail stores across North America (wall decor publishing and licensing), Pierre Belvedere (greeting cards), and American Media New York (book publishing).
