Elizabeth Urquhart is a self-taught photographer who is inspired by nature. She uses photography to capture the ever changing beauty of the outdoors. She grew up in Canada and as a young girl she spent countless hours at her family's cottage on the lake and in her mother's garden, soaking in the beauty of a summer's day. She loves using photography to capture and interpret the beauty of nature. Today, while photographing and editing, Elizabeth creates art she would love to decorate with and imagines her work hanging in her home. She creates reassuring and simplified images by using soft lighting, isolating one or two colors, and a narrow depth of focus. Her photos are a great way to bring a touch of the outdoors in. Though a professional photographer, Elizabeth is still open to learning new techniques from her fellow photographers.
She is a regular visitor of art galleries and museums to view the works of other photographers. She also participates in art shows and exhibitions to help popularize her work. She has received numerous awards and her art has received positive reviews from professional art critics. Elizabeth gets inspiration from the places she has visited, the people she has interacted with, and from the photographers she admires. Elizabeth feels so attached to photography so much so that that whenever she takes breaks from her work she feels a void. Photography has become an integral part of her life and she’s happy with the feedback that she gets from viewers who have said that when they look at her images they get a sense of peace.
