Urban Cricket was developed by Audrey and Gloria, a pair of roommates in a small New York City apartment. They made the drawings, fleshed out concepts, learned silk-screening, and in the April of 2009, their first folding table was set up in Union Square and the work began. Today their works are collected worldwide and have been exhibited in the most prestigious galleries. They are also published in important art collections. The common denominator in Urban Cricket’s works is the search for harmony through extraordinary multi-layered abstracts and color overlays. The lasting effect from their work is one of emotion, purity, and seduction. All products are illustrated and designed by one or both Audrey and Gloria, and hand printed largely in their store/studio at 29 Essex Street in New York City.
Audrey and Gloria are defined by their critics as real designers of art. Many have talked about overexposure, over-determination, but their secret is just in the unclassifiable emotional effect their works give out. Urban Cricket uses only the finest quality tees and tries to create eco-consciously when possible. Urban Cricket works in mixed media and creates many commissioned paintings. Both Audrey and Gloria have dynamic personality probably because they grew up in an ideal environment that helped develop their creativity and artistic talent in the company of supportive families and friends. Their works have been exhibited in many galleries and are currently much sought after by many collectors. They have many finishing options to increase the collectability of their products.
