Studio Eleven was founded by David Giles and it has been in existence for more than 10 years. Giles came up with the idea of the studio to help provide an outlet for his own work and other artists from the "Freedom School" group. Some of the members of this group include artists such as Andrew Shaw, Liliana Stafford, Roseanna Dwyer, Carol-Ann Huging, Helen Hayward, George, Emelie Coffey, Sam Dunn, Yvonne Cilia, Sarah May, Elizabeth Richards, Anita Treadwell, and Helen Ryder, to name just but a few. Studio Eleven has been creates and distributes high quality illustrated images to business companies all across Australia and beyond. Their art are selling in large numbers because they are in great demand.
They have held exhibitions in New York, Paris, Bali, UK, Singapore, Melbourne, Sydney, and throughout WA. Giles himself has 50 solo exhibitions to his name. At the studio they usually work on canvas in inks and acrylic, producing textured work through random dripping of inks and layers of paint. Under the guidance of Giles, Studio Eleven has gone from strength to strength and the products they have created can be seen in many public and private institutions and homes around the world. As his painting develops Giles discovers happy accidents which have evolved and help to form the finished painting, often dictating where detail will happen. He’s a painter, who paints because it makes him happy and he hopes that it does the same for his viewers. He has a strong belief in the power of color therapy in uplifting people’s spirits.
