Erik Roelofs is an experienced Aviation Photographer and Aviation Correspondent. He works as a freelance photographer and is represented by Stocktrek Images stock photo agency. He has been a freelance photographer since 2000 and this experience and given him the opportunity to meet and serve some of the esteemed clients around the globe. Roelofs specializes in military aviation and his has made his art to be very popular in military circles. His photography is used to illustrate his own aviation books and publications of several known authors. His images can be seen in publications such as Combat Aircraft, Air Forces Monthly, Aeronautica and Difesa (Italy), Pacific Wings, Aeronautika (Croatia), JWings (Japan), Cockpit (Austria, Switzerland and Germany), Lotnictwo (Poland), PTISI (Greece), among others.
He studied at HU University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool Utrecht) Utrecht from 1993 to 2001, and he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Communication Systems. He also holds a degree in Havo from Katholieke Scholengemeenschap De Breul, and Mavo from the same institution. From 1995 to 1998, he had a study break to travel through the United States, Australia and Europe. His experience in aerial photography includes flight hours on a variety of helicopters and aircraft, including F-4E Phantom II, the F-16D Fighting Falcon, HC-130P Combat King, B-52H Stratofortress, HH-60G Pave Hawk, PC-7 Turbo Trainer, Mi-24V Hind, UH-1H Iroquois, and several other types of aircraft. He has spent several years in various assignments related to photography on commercial scale. Today, his pieces of art are used for decorative purposes in many buildings around the world.
