Gavriel Jecan is an award-winning photographer whose works have appeared in international ads such as the Hasselblade's XPan campaign and publications such as Megadiversity. He has been a photographer for almost 3 decades and during the course of his work he has managed to venture into the exotic and remote locations to capture and record a large collection of wildlife, architecture, travel, indigenous culture and landscape photographs. OnAsia, Corbis Photo Stock, Getty Images, AGE and Danita Delimont are some of the world’s major photo agencies that represent much of his work. The artist produces his art in a variety of finishing options to satisfy the varying needs of his clients. By doing this, he has been able to attract a huge following of fans who keep on looking for his new productions. Even today, his fan base is still expanding as many people get to discover his art.
Jecan also manages select editorial usage on an independent basis. He has published 4 photographic books: Wild Colors, C for Coyote, Hide and Seek, South West Colors, and Alaska Animal Babies, as well as multiple titles in collaboration with Art Wolfe, a fellow photographer. Jecan seems to have an inherent sense of composition and color from his childhood. His interest in art began at an early age. He was inspired by the everyday images in his surrounding which still fill his memory. For the last seven years Jecan has focused on photo projects in a number of countries in and around South East Asia, including India, China, Nepal, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos.
