Carol Joy Shannon works from her private studio in the Lowcountry in South Carolina. For many years, she worked as part of the art community in Raleigh NC before she decided to establish her own studio which is currently located between Charleston and Savannah. She likes it when working from her studio experiencing all the joys and challenges of her own gallery. She has been showing her artwork in more than 25 juried national shows every year. She drives more than 25,000 miles every year to meet her clients and share what she does. Her art can be seen in Beaufort SC at the Thibault Gallery, and in Hatteras NC at the Seaworthy Gallery. She’s a full time artist whose body of work is geometric cityscapes, architectural abstracts and three-dimensional wall art featuring the same geometric approach to abstract and landscape.
Her works are colorful and large scale, embodying her passion for color and composition, and commitment to presentation that’s of high quality. Her images seen on many online stores represent the 100s of originals hanging on walls in public buildings, offices and homes throughout the United States, South America and Europe. She says she’s very blessed to be able to do what she loves, thanks to her wonderful clients. Her art has been shown at many local venues, including the Cameron Art Museum, the North Carolina Museum of Art, the United Arts Council of Raleigh, Miriam Preston Block Gallery, Lee Hansley Gallery, the Exchange Gallery, Page Walker Arts Center, 311 West Martin Gallery, the Clayton Arts Center, among others.
