Caroline Benchetrit is a self taught sculptor and painter. She holds an MBA and Ph.d from Montreal’s Ivy League McGill University. In 1996, she left behind her academic career and a business to pursue her artistic dreams. What inspires her signature style is a world without rules, reminding her of a passionate moment in time where dreams come true and joy breaks all boundaries because one believes they do. Her life size sculptures and paintings have been widely published in accredited art journals and have been exhibited through more than 20 galleries in North America. The sculptures are in both bronze and ceramic and are collected on three continents. In 2008, he was featured as one of Canada’s “Top 6 Up And Coming Artists” by the Inside Entertainment Magazine, and two years later she launched her own licensed brand and began licensing into the apparel industry successfully.
In 2012 Caroline launched an edition of life size bronzes for collector which are handled through popular auction houses like Christies, New York and are represented on three continents. Caroline combines texture and color to produce a simple representation of the subject. The content is secondary to the authentic emotion. She believes that if she has tugged at the observer’s untamable spirit she has done her work. She uses a narrative style in her expression. Textual and visual allusions suggest the passionate message behind a scene that is seemingly simple. What matters to her most about the work that she does is that it is able to transmit the inspiration intended at the time of creation.
