Lori Deiter was raised in rural Pennsylvania. She loved art from a tender age. A self-taught artist, she developed a love for photography in 2007 after her youngest child graduated and left for college. Her favorite subjects are waterfalls, rural scenery, barns, and animals, including her wild chipmunks and two Labrador Retrievers that she feeds at her back yard. The photos of her chipmunk have been published in numerous periodicals and magazines in Europe and the United States. Most of her images are captured with her Canon 60D that’s always by her side. Lori also tries her hand in Photoshop and uses textures and various treatments on many of her images. Through photography, she has developed a greater appreciation for all of the little things in life that she loves to capture and share with the world.
She’s keen to detail and will capture certain things that can easily be ignored by many photographers. However, she’s open to learning new things that’s why she keeps her eyes wide open for any new developments in the field of photography. Apart from being a professional photographer Lori also woks full time as a budget analyst. She therefore has to balance her love of photography with full time job and her family. On weekends she can be found traveling on photo shoots with her friends or hiking the trails of central Pennsylvania. Her work has found its way into many galleries, institutions, museums and homes. They are also available to retail and wholesale customers at Penny Lane Publishing.
