Deborah Velasquez is a Brooklyn original, who now enjoys the creative life in New England in the wooded hills with her husband and two sons. Her inspiration comes from the simple beauty of nature found in her back garden, the walks on the streets of New York and Paris, and the primitive innocence of her sons’ scribbles. Deborah offers a collection of fine art prints that reflect her passion for the arts. She believes that art is the best means through which she can communicate her feelings about her subjects to her viewers. That’s why she always strives to keep everything simple as she believes that complicating the work may interfere with the intended interpretation. She loves the mix of words, design, art and craft. Her work is graphic, sophisticated, bold and modern with a unique color sense and reflects her passion for the simplicity of line.
Much of her work is influenced by her childhood and by the places she has visited and the people she has interacted with. She gets inspiration from the feedback she receives from her clients and viewers. Deborah says that love, laughter and courage make everything possible for her. She works in both traditional and digital methods. The traditional works show her love of watercolor, gouache and printmaking.
