Candra Boggs is a versatile artist who is mostly passionate about color. She transforms the joy and peaceful feelings she gets from her children into her paper mosaic artwork. Her world is light and full of happy surprises. She has always been mesmerized by color. Her environment, children and family influence the way she approaches a new piece. She enjoys exploring her creativity and learning new techniques. Candra employs various artistic techniques and media which give her mosaics a contemporary appeal, with hidden surprises. Since achieving her ambition to become an artist, her paintings are now much sought after by galleries and discerning private collectors throughout the world. The materials she uses are quite simple: ink, linoleum, wood, paper, paint, sealer and glue.
She creates images with a layering process of texture, color, line and shape, which articulate her inspiration and mood. Candra creates images that are derived from her free-flowing thoughts. Candra says she has to paint; she doesn’t fear painting. She has so many colors in her head, in so many forms. She is never totally satisfied and therefore needs to paint and paint again because that’s what makes her happy. She hopes that her paintings have the same effect on her viewers. Candra creates multi-media masterpieces and teaches art and photography to high school students. Collage and mixed media help her to express her inner optimism and spontaneity. She enjoys the effect of her paintings on others emotion and imagination. She currently lives in Ohio with her husband and children.
