Leo Stans was born and raised in Chaska, MN. He is an active member of the community and contributes a portion of his royalties to both local and national causes. He holds a degree in forestry. Leo tries to keep his portfolio as varied as possible as that means he gets asked to do a variety of jobs and types of work which is how he likes it. From early years Stans has always been imaginative and creative, playing games with his friends, drawing and making things. As an outdoorsman and conservationist, Stans researches the natural habitat of his subjects, photographing wildlife, landscapes and habitat. He loves to deal with nature as a means of appreciating what it has to offer. He uses his art as a means of communicating with his viewers. He believes that art is the best means of communication through which artists express their inner feelings to their clients.
Stans loves colors and plays with them to achieve a perfect balance in his art. He has become one of the most celebrated and collected wildlife artists. His research results in plausible practical detail of his wildlife art. He has been painting now professionally now for more than ten years. Stans is open to learning new techniques. That’s why he doesn’t shy away from visiting art exhibitions and shows to see what other artists are doing. He is also open to constructive criticism and will always appreciate whatever his critics have to say. His art is popular both nationally and internationally and can be found in many collections.
