Marianne D. Cuozzo (Born 1966) is a dreamer, mother, artist and 3-time cancer survivor. She grew up in a family of artists and therefore art was part of her everyday life. In her family, someone was always creating something. At an early age Marianne realized that their family was not like every other uptown family and she liked it that way. She grew up in NYC and this allowed her to attend art school and engage in a many art jobs as she continued to gain experience in a variety of mediums of art. After some years it eventually paved a way for Marianne and a friend to have their own studio where she worked as a decorative painter. In 1994, life changed for Marianne. She was only 28 years old and she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin Lymphoma. She underwent splenectomy and radiation severally after which she was told it would be impossible for her ever to conceive.
It was so devastating to this newlywed. At the age of 31, she experienced a recurrence and this time she underwent chemotherapy. Two years into her status of remission, the doctors told her that she could have a baby and she decided to try. Her baby, Leonardo was born in 2000. In 2014 she had another cancer diagnosis. This time it was breast cancer. She had to undergo a chemo and bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. Unfortunately, complications arose and one of her implants was infected. After several emergency room visits, she had the one implant removed and her breasts too, leaving her flat.
