Jairo Ernesto Rodriguez was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. He obtained his first bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management. He later resumed studies, returning to the university to pursue bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages. Jairo had an intention of becoming a teacher. After graduation, he got a teaching job at a Catholic High School in Bogota where he taught Art. He taught for awhile then decided to move to the US. He settled in Columbia, SC and got hired by the Visiting International Faculty in 2005. He has since taught Spanish to several high school students in public schools.
Jairo currently resides in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is a self taught artist who is constantly searching to share the beauty he sees through his camera with others. In his own words, Jairo says he is from a beautiful country full of colors, nature and a lot of elements that inspire him – flowers, mountains, coffee, trees, emeralds, etc. Jairo is also inspired by the beauty of architecture as well as any type of element he has found in many places he has visited. His paintings and photography are more than a way of expression. They are his closest and finest sensation to love. Jairo loves what he does, transforms, captures and shares. Every single painting or picture helps him to discover new parts of himself. Photography changed his perspective of reality and beauty that can be appreciated in his work which has no boundaries. He observes and he lets it flow.
