Lisa Dearing specializes in horses and the American West. She’s is a professional fine art photographer whose mission is to capture the enduring heritage and traditions of the west. She also documents the changes of the recent modern era on this traditional lifestyle. Her work has been exhibited in many private collections and galleries, as well as a limited edition coffee table book on wild mustangs. Lisa received a B.F.A. in visual arts and photography from the Academy of Arts College in San Francisco. After her graduation, she worked in commercial film production while on Colossal Pictures’ staff working for clients such as the MTV, Honda, Disney Channel, and Coca Cola. Her photography work has been used for editorial projects, advertising, publishing and graphic design. In 1995, she relocated to a small mountain town in the Sierra Nevada called Truckee, California, to start her own photography business, that’s where she began documenting the lifestyle, traditions, and heritage of the changing American West.
Lisa’s works can be found on calendars, books covers, cards, and are used in advertising and annual reports for major corporate clients such as Frontier Oil, Cessna Airplane, Zebra Publishing, 14 Hands Vineyards and Western Horseman Magazine. She offers merchandise and fine art prints of many of cowboys, her horses, and western images through her Fine Art America Site. In the future Lisa will be writing about all the different mediums that her work can be printed on, including wood, metallic finish, canvas, and products with her western images such as bedding and pillows, phone cases, clothing, shower curtains, and much more.
