Todd Ridge was born in Marion, Virginia. Ridge discovered the joy of trout fishing in his childhood, and he spent long hours appreciating the beauty of the streams in the mountains where he fished. When he was 12 years old, his family moved away from Virginia, and settled in Atlanta, Georgia – from the peace of a rural setting to a fast paced region. Ridge longed for the simple quiet country life he had left behind in Virginia. He received his first camera at the age of sixteen. This camera was a gift from his mother. At first, he could use it to shoot just as a hobby but later, he discovered what would become his life's passion – nature photography. Combining his deep love of the outdoors with this passion, Ridge has been capturing the beauty of nature for more than 20 years.
At the heart of his art lies his affection for the pure, simple beauty of the natural world. His images have gained much repute among nature lovers and conservationists. Currently, Ridge resides in Canton, Georgia, with his two children and his wife. The photographer can be found hiking the woods and mountains of North Georgia, exploring the rivers and capturing for his viewers and clients, the spectacular beauty of the area. Many collectors stock large numbers of his art to meet the ever growing demand. His art can be found hanging on the walls of many buildings around the world.
