Jill Martin is an American fine art artist who's known for her paintings of landscapes, seascapes, and abstract artwork. She uses a unique color layering and textures that give all her works her noticeable finish. Jill earned her bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Arizona, Tucson, in 1991. She later took a post bachelors education at the Art K-12 University of Arizona in 1992. That wasn't the end of her education as eight years later she went to the University of Arizona, graduating with a Masters of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing. Jill taught art in different schools in Arizona before she started creating her own artwork as an independent artist. One of her paintings won Painting residency at Dorland Mountain Arts Colony in 2002. She also won the First place juried show at the Back Street Galleries in Los Angeles in the same year.
Jill has been to several national and international shows with her artwork, some of which are invitational while others are juried. Her international travel, especially in Europe has also influenced part of her paintings. She resided in Los Angeles and British Columbia, and is now residing in Phoenix, Arizona. Jill still continues working as a freelance artist, creating artwork for different clients and making her own artistic creations for sale. Her works have been exhibited in many different places, including Fl3tch3r Exhibit, Tipton Gallery, Papercut Gallery, Charlotte, North Carolina, and more. Jill uses different media for her works, although she focuses on watercolors and pen and ink.
