Marina Drasnin Gilboa’s art was strongly influenced by her parents who were both architects. She was raised in Los Angeles, California and is one of 5 children, all of whom are photographers, architects, artists, or combinations of these. She holds a bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Tufts University and attended a 4-year course at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School. She also holds a diploma in Language Studies and Civilization from the Sorbonne in Paris, France. Marina is the current Vice President of On a Shoestring, Inc, where she’s also a Partner. This is where she produces and creates all artwork. Her professional experience includes window designer, interior designer, figure skater, designer of wearable art, event and wedding coordinator, and also does colorization consultancy for the Walt Disney Company.
Marina also has the "Marina Collection" with the Winn Devon Art Group, in addition to a card line with Chronicle Books. Her passion for the arts is growing day by day as she keeps on learning new styles and techniques. Formerly, she was a member of the art and production design department for "The Grifters", the Academy Award nominated film. Marina says that the reason she loves art is because it reflects nature and lets her express herself in unique mediums. She has several years of experience in the arts industry, and it is her hope that her artwork communicates whimsy, joy, serenity, and beauty to her viewers. Her art is highly collected and can be found in many galleries all over the world.
