Charles Swinford is a Senior Graphic Designer and Marketing Specialist at Pamplin Historical Park. He works from a visual background, and focuses on clear communications and clean designs. In the visual design life cycle, he has created for every step, from creative direction to production. Swinford believes in accessible, effective design as a way of life, and he instills that sensibility in all he does. From 2010 to 2011, he worked as a Graphic Designer for Frame Packaging Solutions. Here, he was the chief designer responsible for creating communications materials and printed graphics for a diverse clientele. The regular clients for the company included Colonial Williamsburg, MeadWestvaco, Richmond International Raceway, Busch Gardens, and Cedar Fair parks. From 2011 to 2013 he worked as a Graphic Designer with Richmond Times-Dispatch in Richmond, Virginia.
This award-winning designer served many major metropolitan newspaper s with wide readership, some with more than 671,400 readers. He produced graphics for clients ranging from major international brands to small local businesses. He used Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign to create print and digital ads for the second largest daily paper in Virginia, and half a dozen weekly publications. He designed and built special sections and periodicals with circulations to more than 10,000 readers. He was also the lead designer for evening shift, and was the point man for projects for statewide following-day publication. Swinford has worked part-time in the hospitality industry as an operator for luxury transportation companies. He provided complete expert-level services for private groups, individuals, and corporate clients, and customized his services to exceed customer expectations.
