Giuliano Censini (Born 1951) was born in Sinalunga. He’s a goldsmith, sculpture, graphic artist who lives and works in Torrita di Siena. Censini has been a jewellery designer and design teacher for more than thirty years at the “Piero della Francesca' Institute of Art in Arezzo, and at the Institute of Art in Macerata, Pistoia. He holds a diploma from the Institute of Art in Arezzo. For the artist “memory” and a “mark” are complementary nouns, capable of activating an indispensible artistic symbiosis and mutuality. His works are an imaginary window that faces onto daily life, and a break from a moment. In an age in which there seems to have been strong delays in acknowledging public sentiment, the artist undertakes one of his personal emotional paths.
It is really a sensitive and vibrant introspective that guides him towards a transformation of the state of the soul in works of art. It is an adventure of the soul. In Censini there is a strong evidence of the extraordinary capacity that enters into a marked sympathetic vibration with the object itself without the spirit of abstraction dispensing a spirit of empathy. In his art there’s a marked acquisitive solidity that, even if it is fantasy dream, it reconnects with reality. A matter that reveals a rigorous and secure chromatic background that reminds the people of the split between the Val d’Orcia and the Val di Chiana. He has obtained recognition and his works are found on show in public and private collections both in Italy and overseas.
