Simon Addyman (Born 1957) is a British fine artist who was born in Colchester, England. He was born to parents who're accomplished artists. As he was growing up, he exhibited some deep interest in art. As artist parents, they encouraged Addyman to continue following his passion. In 1982, he received a degree in fine arts from the Colchester School of Art. After completing his college education, he worked as an illustrator and a graphic designer before he began taking his artwork to different galleries. As a result of the quality of his works, they've been exhibited in several galleries in London. His Jan Portrait was taken in and exhibited by the London-based National Portrait Gallery. In 1991, he moved to Los Angeles, California where he continued creating artwork. He has been commissioned by several companies and a host of other entities to create art. Addyman’s works are also available in different collections in the US and Europe.
Besides selling his original works, Addyman also licenses some of them for sale as prints through numerous websites. His art was mainly inspired by his childhood neighborhoods, injecting in him some level of romantic imaginations that he's been able to display in his works. He does his works in either oil or acrylic based on the subject. His works are abstract and influenced by the paintings created by Old Masters, while adding some elements to properly display both the mood and atmosphere. His studio is full of works that he's created and provides a great place for his medication. He loves giving back to the community and has been engaged in giving donations for helping cancer victims.
