Bernadette Deming is an artist who was born and raised in New York. This is where she currently lives with her husband, Marty, on a hundred acres piece of land surrounded by peaceful wildlife. She has painted all of her life and could paint on any material she could lay her hands on when she was still a child. Bernadette enjoys decorating with bird nests, eggs and twigs and leaves, and things from nature. Bernadette participated in her first craft show at the age of twelve, and has been creating things ever since. She prefers the simpler things in life and loves spending time with her three children and their friends. Bernadette’s hobbies are gardening and bird watching. She also collects old-fashioned candy themed antiques and ice cream.
Under the influence of other artists, she paints compositions that show a good sense of space. Her paintings are notable for the large foreground masses and are simple in outline, well-balanced in composition, and profound in tonalities. Her more individualistic style is considered her best. She likes to sculpt clay snowmen and Santas, but her true passion is painting. She looks forward to developing new ideas and having a ball painting. She enjoys painting with acrylics because of their ease of use. Many have described her artwork as American primitive. She tries to find whimsy and humor in everyday life and looks for inspiration everywhere. Bernadette appreciates the happiness that her work brings to others and thanks God for the gift that He has given her.
