Joy Waldman lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts where she also teaches art. She’s an award-winning watercolor artist whose whimsical children's art, and animated seascapes, sunny gardens, floral watercolors express a joie de vivre and spontaneity for which her art is known. Her freedom of stroke and vibrant use of color lend a quality to her art that’s at once decorative and expressive. Her sensitive, yet bold, watercolors celebrate the beauty that is found in nature. The unprompted joy fresh flowers evoke and the general appeal of spring in summer or bloom unfolding. Joy is a member of many prestigious art associations - one of them is the renowned Copley Society found in Boston. The artist has exhibited in quite a number of designer show houses, galleries, and art festivals.
Her commissioned works and watercolors are represented nationally in corporate and private collections. She’s spreading the base of her clients to other countries. Over the years, many of her artwork has been published as posters, limited editions, placemats, gift bags, greeting cards, and even a line of apparel. She’s represented by Porterfield that's delighted to be able to represent an artist of this caliber and to add her to its roster of fine artists. Porterfield has made the recent and new images of Joy broadly available for art licensing. They strongly recommend her work for all giftware products and home decor, stationery and related paper items. They are also perfect for wall decor and for any product that’s created to bring color and warmth into a home.
