Renee Stramel is a Photographic Artist living and working in Richmond, VA. She grew up outside of Washington D.C. She’s a photographic artist who came of age in the post punk era in the mid 1980's. She’s is one of those people who is always taking pictures. Renee is inspired constantly, and she feels that technology has finally caught up with her brain. Her work is bold and graphic and reflects her love of color, yet she also has an affinity for iconic black and white images. Her photos can be found in various corporate and private collections throughout the world. Her work has been featured in exhibitions across in Richmond, VA. People often tell her that her images make them happy. But Renee doesn’t think she’s always the bubbly happy person they expect her to be. However, the act of being behind the camera brings her great joy.
She likes to think of art as a language that speaks to people, just like music. She believes that there’s a magic in photography that parallels that magic in music. Renee is so thankful for the talented artists who inspire her every day. She’s a regular visitor of art galleries and museums to help keep her art fresh and also to learn from other photographer. She’s open to criticism and is always open to learn new things. Her photographs have receives positive reviews, a fact that has given her a reason to keep pressing on with photography. She also participates in exhibitions to showcase her art.
