Tom Morris’ work has been exhibited in Tanzania, Costa Rica, and Cuba through the Art and Embassy programs. He’s interested in the patterns hidden in nature as an organizing principal for design and painting. He has had solo shows and participated in many group shows throughout the U.S. He has produced murals for Dakota Restaurant, New York; the Smithsonian Institution; the AFI Theater, Silver Spring and Artex Art Services, Washington DC. He has also completed painting commissions for many District of Columbia area real estate and law firms, as well as for private collectors in Boston, San Francisco, New York and Houston. His art is in the collections of Holliday Fenoglio and Fowler, AT&T, Wardman Park Hotel, Courdut Brothers, the Jimmy Carter Library, Atlanta, Georgia and Arnold and Porter.
For the last few years he has been working on a 100-acre private estate in The Plains Virginia as the Designer in Residence, dealing with interior spaces and garden architecture for the private residence. Morris has also taught classes such as Drawing in the District, Portrait Drawing Short Course, and Figure Drawing Short Course. The driving force behind his work is his desire to express his unique creativity which inspires his to produce high quality art. His passion is creating unique and unusual art using texture as a base for his work. The artist uses different techniques and styles to come up with a variety of products that are able to serve the varying needs of his clients. This has made his art to find its way into some of the leading galleries, museums and institutions around the world.
