Stephanie Stouffer is very much delighted when viewers stand and take a second look at her art, some of whom end up purchasing them. She’s an artist whose work is known all over the world and they can be seen in many collections and galleries. They are also in institutions, homes and museums. She moved to Vermont in the early l980’s and she’s been working here as a freelance artist. Like many creative artists, her much productive but private time has been spent in her studio. She loves art and many of her designs reflect the balance and serenity that she seeks in her life, and she hopes that in the more than 30 years that her artwork has been in the marketplace, she’s been able to share her feelings, as well as whimsy and warmth with others. She hopes that the viewers will enjoy finding some of her most familiar images, discover new ones, and learn a little about her through her art.
The place where she lives, in the beauty and quiet of rural Vermont, nourishes her and her art. Stephanie is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design. For a decade, she worked as a designer with Hallmark Cards. This is the place where she received far-reaching experience designing for the decorative accessories and social expression markets. Since 1983, Stephanie has been working freelance, and her art is licensed on many products, including Tapestries, Rugs, Caspari Cards, Stoneware, and Needlepoint Pillows. Many of these, and the original prints and art, are currently on display in her gallery.
