Danny O Wall Art

Danny O is most notable is his 3-D ball art, though he works in a variety of mediums. His vibrant art is built upon ingenious imagination. His inspiration comes from objects from everyday life and Pop culture. Danny is influenced by artists such as Warhol, Matisse, The Jam, Paul Klee, the Beatles, Milton Avery, Jeff Smith, Scott Zieher, the Fort Point artist of the late 1990s, Wayne Viens, and most influential, his artistic family background, especially his inventive and frugal father and mother, whose conversion of ordinary objects is the core source of his approach to art. An intuitive recycler, Danny creates collage art using a variety of media, from sophisticated and subtle Scotch tape drawings to colorful magazine paper and comic books. Old lottery tickets and vintage record album covers serve as his modern canvas, adding further meaning and depth to each collage. He has collected an astonishing 22,000 discarded or lost balls, which he has made into convoluted mosaics for museum and commercial installations.

His studio reflects his media and eclectic art style. Danny is credited as the first person to make art with Scotch tape. He managed to create portraits of the Statue of Liberty, Oprah and David Letterman in his trademarked technique. In 2005 he was appointed the spokesperson for 75th anniversary of Scotch Tape.
