Merryl Jaye is an artist whose original paintings and reproductions are sought after and owned by an ever increasing number of prestigious collectors, including many greats in varied fields of entertainment, politics and business. She’s a celebrated painter who was raised in California. She loved art from a tender age and began painting and the age of 12. Her art attracted the attention of many people who encouraged and supported her. She developed a style that is not only unmistakably recognizable, but is also visionary and irrevocably her own. Merryl was enthusiastic about performing arts and she also sang and studied light opera, winning many scholarships. Her love of painting and music came together to help her produce stunning pieces of artwork by combining with her extremely lyrical sense of lighting and color that many of her fans have found to be truly captivating.
Merryl’s subjects have been rendered vividly, using an expressionistic, contemporary style. She captures their true essence of her subjects, and even more importantly recreates their uncanny likenesses. The artist used to entertain the troops in Vietnam with the USO, something that made her feel that she was serving her country in a special way. She even became a recording artist, a career that became very successful. However, after some years, she left the music industry and decided to follow painting which was her true passion. Her deep background in allows her the understanding and sensitivity to capture on canvas the spontaneity and emotion of jazz in live performance. Her style has successfully harmonized the twin mediums of music and art.
