Patrick Sullivan Wall Art

Though born in Prince George County, Maryland, Patrick Sullivan grew up in the suburbs of Omaha, Nebraska. In 1992, he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Kansas State University. His work has been exhibited at Fill in the Blank Gallery in Chicago, Gallery Lele in Tokyo, and H&R Block Artspace in Kansas City. His ongoing work in assemblage, collage and silkscreen printing draws from his illustration and design experience as well as his fine art background. He currently lives and works in Kansas City, Missouri where his printmaking focuses on figures, over and over again with cropped or obscured features, pooled with elements such as obsolete technology, medical imagery, ornamentation and patterning to create interpretations on our basic human desire to relate to each other and understand ourselves.

His most recent work examines emotional vulnerability, the sense of personal identity and the fragility of the human physical limitations using the imagery and language of sleep. He also participates in art shows and exhibitions to help popularize his work. Sullivan has received numerous awards and his art has received positive reviews from professional art critics. He gets inspiration from the places he has visited, the people he has interacted with, and from the artists he admires. Sullivan feels so attached to art so much so that that whenever he takes breaks from his work he feels a void. Art has become an integral part of his life and he’s happy with the feedback that he gets from viewers who have said that when they look at his images they get a sense of peace.
