Karla Gerard is a self taught Abstract /Folk Art Artist who has been painting since her teenage years with great passion. She has been selling her artwork for more than 10 years, offering her original paintings and rug hook paper patterns. Her current oil pastels, original paintings, velvet pillow covers and rug hook craft paper patterns are available for her clients. Karla’s passion is painting unique colorful folk art abstract landscapes, trees, birds, sheep, cats, dogs, girls, collage and houses, trees, and flower paintings in oil pastels, acrylics, and mixed media on paper and canvas. She tries to constantly evolve in her art and strives to keep it interesting to increase collectability. Apart from painting and art, she also likes paranormal, day trips, watching good movies and eating out at great restaurants. Karla has been a tremendous source of inspiration to many upcoming artists.
Looking at her works, it's now hard to believe that she is a self taught artist. But she still looks for new and inventive ways to improve her work. Her art reflects a balance of emotion and technical skill. The artists who feel like they want to give up on art usually get back into the business after viewing her work and hearing her story. Her works are found in several institutions and in several of private and corporate collections all over the world. She has taken part in several solo and group exhibitions where her artwork has been the center of attraction.
