ArtPopTart is a one woman show specializing in archival giclee reproductions of Lauren Hoffman's original mixed media artwork. The materials she uses include collage, acrylic, and spray paint. Each of her mixed media collage paintings are painstakingly made, taking between six and twenty hours to complete. Her inspiration comes from innocent animals to dark sci-fi material. She creates her art in a way to give her clients’ home decor a bohemian, whimsical, and eclectic feel.
Each of the mixed media collage paintings are painstakingly made and take between six and twenty hours to complete. She starts by brainstorming an idea for a silhouette then draws out the silhouette and cuts it out carefully without cutting off a finger. Next she collages the entire canvas with upcycled magazine clippings the places the silhouette on the canvas and paints around it. In some cases she sponges on paint to give it a rough badass feel. Next, if she thinks the piece is good enough to have prints made, she scans it in with a high quality scanner. It takes her about six scans followed by Photoshop stitching to complete the job.
She often claims that some of her best posters, art and prints come from the inspiration provided by her happy clients. Apart from her family, searching for new trends and browsing around beautiful subjects are some of the things that feed her inspiration, and that passion echoes throughout her work. She likes color so much because it helps her to create the mood in her compositions.
