Alloyius Mcilwaine Wall Art

Alloyius Mcilwaine is a native of Philadelphia. He’s a self-taught artist working in many different mediums. Mcilwaine’s strong interest in comic books and hip-hop music lends itself to creating colorful, bold abstract paintings that are reminiscent of street art and graffiti. Mcilwaine has been creating art since he was a child. He remembers vividly that it was at the early age of three that he discovered a love for art. By attempting to duplicate comic book images, he began to develop a talent for drawing. As he came of age, he began to study various different forms of art which included comic book art, traditional art, abstract art, graffiti, and more. Soon, he started working on the creation of Cultures Clothing Company. That’s when he began to develop sketches of his art on clothing. In the year 2000 Cultures Clothing was then founded as a t-shirt company, creating customized, hand-painted t-shirt designs.

He started the company as a way of making some extra cash while attending Neumann University. In the course of his work and study, his love for fashion grew. Mcilwaine soon began to appreciate fashion design as another form of art. He also began to study all different types of fashion, including high fashion art, urban art and art couture. Mcilwaine used this knowledge to expand his clothing line into what it is today. The artist developed his style and experimented with a variety of techniques. He also works with many different mediums, including: Acrylic, Spray Paint, Stencils, Watercolors, 3-D Paint, Pens, Oil Paints, Markers, Pencils, Pastels, Colored Pencils, Wheat Paste-Ups, Charcoal, and more.
