Kim Attwooll Wall Art

Born and raised in New York Kim Attwooll studied illustration at the Parsons School of Design, New York and fine art at the Wallasey College of Art in England. Book covers, posters, teaching batik and ad design and teaching stained glass have kept her busy all these years until she and her husband Jim operated and owned a classic boatyard on Long Island on the north shore. Unfortunately, life then presented her with many distractions to watercolor painting which was her primary talent. However, inspiration took reign and was constant and the need to continue creating was tailored to fit her lifestyle then. She turned her focus to small watercolors because they could be completed quickly. The transparency and vivid colors proved to be a reliable source of happiness.

In 1996, she decided to devote herself fully to her art. She launched a unique greeting card line in which original paintings were attached to cards. She named he company “A Small Work of Art.” she painted over 10,000 paintings in her best year. After 2001, she changed the line to enhanced prints of her paintings. She embellishes every print with raised sparkles or paint making each to be unique. Kim now sells her cards to more than 150 galleries, museum shops, botanical gardens, and independent individuals and bookstores. Her art has been featured in numerous publications and on television. She loves to teach the joy of watercolor and with 1000s of images to choose from, her work reflects the many beautiful places she has lived in.
