Celebrity posters are works of art that feature famous people ranging the current day to the past centuries. These posters remind viewers of the connections between then and now, of the moments that took our breath away. Each one of these celebrities are a piece of history that shouldn't be underestimated in the art world.
There are two main types of
celebrity pictures: Artistic prints and photo realistic recreations. Artistic
celebrity prints can be in color or in black and white. These interpretations frequently try to coax the viewer into seeing the
famous person in a different way and several very successful artists have succeeded. Andy Warhol and L. Ritter became famous for their interpretations of
Marilyn Monroe and Garibaldi breathed sensuous life into his interpretation of Aubrey Hepburn.
Although these aren't necessarily 'true to life', they evoke a sense of what that person represented for the people that admired them. Other posters that lean toward the artistic are ones that don't feature a human celebrity at all, but an infamous figure such as King Kong, Zorro, or other culture icons.
