Bear Photography

Bear photography is a highly varied form of art. Not only are there many kinds of bears, but these animals have so many sides to their personality, and engage in so many activities, that it isn't surprising that bear images have become increasingly popular. These nature pictures serve as a reminder that humans share the planet with many amazing animals, even if most people never get the chance to see anything more than a photograph.

However, though they're rarely seen today, few animals have gained as much interest throughout history as the bear. In shamanistic and prehistoric cultures, the bear was revered for its strength and seen as a symbol for the changing seasons. There have even been snapshots taken that reveal that the worship of bears started as early as the Neolithic period, due to the amount of bear bones that have been discovered alongside ancient human remains.

Most bear pictures are taken in the wild and many of them explore the deepest depths of nature. Polar bear still images, for example, are highly popular among nature enthusiasts because of the dual purpose these bear pictures serve. These photographic images not only reveal the hidden life of the polar bear but also serve to reveal the frozen tundra on which they live. For many people, the climate of Alaska is too cold and these nature photos are the only chance they have to see these majestic animals and the environment it calls home.

For people who loves bear photography, these photos are more than just pictures of nature. Like in ancient cultures, these bear photos are totems for the viewer. They can remind people to be strong, love their family, or just to keep their head up when adversity strikes. For many nature lovers, bears represent the freedom that belongs to all forces of nature and embodies a strength that doesn't fail when times grow difficult. Although human beings no longer worship these animals, every snapshot rekindles that sense of healthy respect and fascinated admiration.
