Jerry Cable is an American artist who was born in northeastern Ohio. He loved art from a very young age and his passion only grew with age. Cable is a teacher and a lecturer. He currently lives near the Delaware River, in Stockton, New Jersey, where he has renovated a barn to make his art studio. Cable has studied the art of artists of the 19th century, especially Camille Pizzaro and Claude Monet. He has used this knowledge to create art and enhance his artistic skills. Cable’s inspiration includes American Impressionists, especially from artists of the New Hope school in Bucks County, PA, and the Old Lyme Academy, in Old Lyme. His creative works are quite simple and based on subjects that are easily recognizable. Cable’s paintings reflect his past memories and they contain relaxation within them. His creative works are quite immersive and can carry the viewer to diverse mental locations. Cable’s artwork has been awarded many times for his oil paintings and they have been displayed and admired in many exhibitions. He won the Best of Show Crossing in 2006 by The Upper Makefield Historical Society Canal Frame Crafts Gallery and has won several others. Cable’s work was recently published in “Artists of the River Towns" authored by the late Doris Brandes of New Hope. His work has been published in many other newspapers and magazines. Many of the art outlets sell his artistic works in a variety of finishing options, including framing, lamination, and canvas.
