Rolfe Horn Wall Art

Rolfe Horn (Born 1971) is a photographer who began photographing at an early age. He graduated from the Brooks Institute in 1996 with many honors. Two years after his graduation, he began exhibiting in Carmel at the Photography West Gallery and that same year he was also hired as an assistant to Kenna Michael, where he further improved his skill over the next 3 years. He’s a darkroom perfectionist and his photographs have been shown in numerous exhibitions. He has traveled widely in search of new subject matter and today his art are included in many public and private collections including the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.

He’s exhibited at Salisbury State University, MD, Center of Photographic Art, Carmel, Photography West Gallery, Carmel, Scott Nichols Gallery, San Francisco, SF Camerawork, San Francisco, Houston Center of Photography, Houston, Studio 391, Gualala, Kentucky Arts and Crafts Gallery, Louisville, Weston Gallery, Carmel, Japan Paper Show, Tokyo, San Jose Museum of Art, San Jose, and Longview Museum of Fine Art, Longview, among other places. The landscape has always attracted him on many levels. He’s somewhat of a loner, so the quiet, and the curiosity of knowing “what is around the next bend” keeps him wanting to explore further down the path. He continues to reflect what it is that makes him stop at a given place to take a photograph. For him, a scene that’s worth capturing must contain something unique and visual harmony that gives him pause.
